STOCKBURY PARISH COUNCIL

The Special Public Meeting called at short notice on the 21st September was well attended, and members of the public very ably put forward their points of view on problems that concern them to the Kent County Councillors P. Sandford and J. Boyd Howell, and our District Councillor, G. Thomas, all of whom kindly came to the meeting. They cannot now be under any illusions about the real feeling in the village on the caravan position.

Most road verges have now been cut, but if anyone is aware of any dangerous spots please let us know.

TALKING POINT

In the May issue of the magazine I remarked on the decline in Stockbury Valley. I now feel there has been a marked improvement. I hope it looks as good when the leaves are off the trees. It looks strange to see the orchards removed from each side of Ammals Hill. It is sad to see the trees go, but it does give a better view from the top of the hill.

MINI YOUTH CLUB

The money obtained from the Sponsored Walk has made it possible to purchase a plastic slide to be used in the Hall. I am sure that the children will get great pleasure from it. Plans are now being made for our Christmas Party.
